Sony revealed its new PS5 logo during its CES 2020 presentation on Monday night, and it’s shocking. Actually, no, I’m kidding is just exactly the same thing. What is surprising is the seriousness with which they presented it. I thought that this was a joke, but then I remember it’s Sony and they take their bad presentations pretty seriously.
Just like the PS3, and the PS4 logo, the new PS5 logo has the same exact font that has already become a PlayStation trademark. To summarize, the 4 was deleted to add the exciting number 5 with a black background, and that’s it. Suprise, surprise, am I right?
Now, don’t get me wrong, the logo is perfect, PlayStation Logos will always be perfect in my eyes. The problem here is that when Sony’s CEO Jim Ryan said: “I’m pleased to show you, for the first time, our new logo” I felt bamboozled. Mainly because it’s a big conference in which everyone was waiting for at least a glimpse of the new console. And, what we eventually got was everyone’s face expecting to see Ashton Kutcher at any given second. Punk’d? Anyone? Too old? Yet, something good came out all of this, the MEMES! God bless the internet for always turning disappointments into a good laughable moment.
What are your thoughts on Sony’s PS5 logo revealed? Yeah, it eventually isn’t a big deal, we know. Still, it is a good meme moment for this console generation that is just starting. With PS3 we had the hyper-realistic crab, PS4 had Shuhei sharing games, and now, PS5 has its logo. Let us know in the comment below or through our Facebook page.
