For those fans of the classics Nintendo recently announced the new lineup of games coming to Nintendo Switch Online NES game library this month. On Wednesday, June 12th, three games will be coming. Both North America and Europe will have the released of Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Volleyball and City Connection.
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Double Dragon II: The Revenge was released for the first time in arcades in 1988 and was launch for NES in 1990. The classic title is a popular side-scrolling beat’em up game. It features the return of Jimmy and Billy Lee known, Double Dragons. They will fight their way through nine lives fill to the brim of Shadow Warriors all this for the loss of their beloved Marion and to finally avenge her and ultimately save the world.
Volleyball was released in 1987, and it was one the earliest releases for the NES. Volleyball its…well its a volleyball game, simple as that. Just like the sport, the game didn’t become mainstream like Baseball and Tennis games at their time.
Nintendo official website describes the games:
“Enjoy a game of volleyball as you spike for a point, slam a perfect serve, and make a save that wins the game for your team. As captain, you’ll lead your team through a fast-paced warm-up round, and then quickly move into the heat of real volleyball competition. The first team to 15 points wins the set, and the first team to win three sets takes the match.” Indeed the game wasn’t as popular as other sport games, but if you are a Volleyball fan, then this may be what you have been waiting for on your Nintendo Switch.
City Connection was a popular Arcade game release in 1985. Yet, in 1988 was also launched on for the NES in Japan and North America. It’s an 8-bit platform game in which you drive on a Honda type of car while you go on a run from the cops after breaking into a prestigious paint store in New York City. All to drive miles to catch a boat to England. From there you will travel around the world while leaking paint everywhere. City Connection is indeed a unique arcade experience that is now coming to Switch.
You can join the Nintendo Switch Online store for $3.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $34.99 for the family plan. If you are into classic games, you should check out the games released on April for Switch online Store.
