Google is taking the reigns even before E3 kicks in completely. Today the company hosted their own Stadia Connect (coff coff, Nintendo Direct). They started by stating these will be regular broadcasts to bring more information about the platform and games that are going to be featured in it. Here’s everything you need to know about today’s Stadia Connect.
Google Stadia will launch on November of this year.
For launch date, the service will be available in 14 territories:
- United States
- United Kingdom
Google recommends an internet speed of at least 10 mbps for a 720p experience.
The service will launch with a “Founders Edition” at a $130 cost. There will also be a $10 premium service, Stadia Pro, that will allow 4K, HDR and 60 FPS streaming. A free 1080p streaming option will be coming in 2020. At the moment the only game included for “free” with the service is Destiny 2.
Stadia Founders Edition
According to Google: The Founder’s Edition guarantees you access to Stadia at launch. The Founders Edition is already available for pre-order here and includes the following:
- Three months of Stadia Pro
- A Buddy Pass that allows you to give a friend three months of Stadia Pro
- The exclusive Night Blue Stadia Controller
- A Stadia Controller Power adapter
- A Google Chromecast Ultra
- A Google Chromecast Ultra Power adapter with an Ethernet port
- Founder’s Stadia Name
- Founder’s Badge
This is merely the 4K premium version of the service. With Stadia Pro you can play in up to 4K at 60 FPS with 5.1 surround sound and get discounts on game purchases. It also includes access to an ever-expanding library of games.
When you buy the Founder’s Edition, you’ll receive a Buddy Pass that can be used to invite another user to access Stadia and enjoy three months of Stadia Pro.
