Dr. Mario World, Nintendo’s most recent mobile game released, has been seen some impressive number since it released on July 9. Since its launch, Dr. Mario Wolrd has already reached 2 million downloads for both iOS and Android devices.
This number comes from a data report from Sensor Tower Store Intelligence, Which also reported more than $100,000 in in-app purchases in the first 72 hours after Dr. Mario World launch.
Sensor Tower compared Dr. Mario World launch with the first three mobile games previously launched by Nintendo, such as Super Mario Run and Dragalia Lost. Among the entire Nintendo mobile lineup, this one has the lowest earner. However, even though it looks like the weakest titles in comparison to its predecessors, it’s actually making a healthy and steady revenue. According to Sensor, the high number of downloads is thanks to the name of the Mario Franchise, and its monetization system, which is compared to other puzzle games like Candy Crush Saga maker King.
Currently, Dr. Mario is the Number One iPhone app in Japan and six in the U.S. Only time will tell the upcoming success of Dr. Mario World.
